Sustainability (ESG)

Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions from existing Uktupus data, energy, water and waste per site, workforce and community figures, governance, supplier ESG questionnaires, targets, data collection tasks and the yearly VSME report. Product carbon footprint and CBAM are an add-on.

Available with the Sustainability (ESG) module. Product carbon footprint and CBAM need the ESG — product footprint & CBAM add-on.

Most numbers are calculated from data already in Uktupus, so the report is mostly filled before anyone types anything:

AreaComes from
Scope 1 fuelFleet fuel logs (diesel, petrol, LPG)
Scope 3 purchasesPosted purchase invoices, by product category
Scope 3 freightSubcontracted freight orders (weight × distance, or cost)
WorkforceHR employees, contracts, payroll and certifications
SafetyHSEQ incidents and payroll hours

Revenue and intensityPosted sales invoices

Dashboard (/esg)

Main numbers for the year, a five-year trend, emissions per month, target progress and open data tasks. Numbers are cached for 15 minutes; Recalculate refreshes them.

Emissions (/esg/emissions)

Scope 1, 2 and 3 with every source line, the activity quantity and the factor used. Scope 2 is shown location-based (country grid, for example the North Macedonia mix) and market-based (certified renewable electricity counts as zero).

Energy, water & waste (/esg/data)

Monthly entries per site, from the invoice or as meter readings (start and end; consumption is calculated). Attach invoices or meter photos. Waste entries record hazardous or non-hazardous, the treatment (recycled, landfill …), the disposal company, the waste code and the transfer note. Business travel and refrigerant top-ups are entered here too.

Emission factors (/esg/factors)

A ready-made library: fuels, electricity grid per country, heating, refrigerants (GWP), water, waste, travel, freight and spend-based factors. Change any value to match your supplier or national data; built-in factors keep their key, unit and scope so calculations keep working. Add your own factors, for example a supplier-specific electricity mix.

Purchase categories map product categories to a spend factor (kg CO₂e per €) for scope 3, or exclude them. The material factor (kg CO₂e per kg) is used for product footprints.

People & community (/esg/people)

Headcount, gender split, permanent and temporary contracts, hires, leavers and turnover, training hours (per gender), ethics training share, gender pay gap (from payroll, or contract salaries when there is no payroll) and work injuries per million hours. Set gender on the employee and hours and type on certifications in HR.

Community contributions record donations, sponsorships, in-kind support and volunteering, with documents.

Governance (/esg/governance)

  • Policies — anti-corruption, code of conduct, whistleblowing and others, with document, owner and review date. The owner gets a reminder 30 days before and on the review date.
  • Board — members, role, gender, executive and independent.
  • Complaints & whistleblowing — separate permission, so only the people handling reports see them. Reports only show totals.

Supply chain (/esg/supply-chain)

Local, foreign and unknown spend by supplier country. Questionnaires are sent to one or many suppliers at once; the supplier answers in the portal (/portal/esg). Yes/no questions are weighted and scored out of 100; below 50 is high risk. You accept the answers or send them back with a note. Only accepted scores count in the report. Suppliers without a portal user stay as drafts.

Targets (/esg/targets)

Goals per indicator, as a change against a baseline year (for example −10% CO₂ by 2027) or as a fixed value. The baseline is taken from Uktupus data unless you enter it. Progress shows how far you are and whether you are on track for a straight-line path.

Data collection tasks (/esg/tasks)

Assign who enters which number by when, for example "electricity for the plant, monthly". The assignee gets a notification and reminders (3 days before, on the due date and weekly when overdue) and can complete the task even without other ESG access. Completing it creates the entry with the evidence attached, and repeating tasks create the next one.

Product carbon footprint (/esg/products) — add-on

Footprint per unit, cradle to gate: materials, production energy, inbound transport and other. Calculate from bill of materials adds up the components, using each component's own footprint or the material factor of its category. Enter the mass per unit for kg CO₂e per kg.

CBAM (/esg/cbam) — add-on

For steel, aluminium, cement, fertiliser, hydrogen and electricity sold to EU customers. Set the CBAM category, CN code, mass and direct and indirect emissions per tonne on the product footprint. The quarterly report groups posted sales invoices by product, CN code and destination country, with embedded emissions, and exports to Excel for your EU importer.

VSME report (/esg/reports)

The yearly report in the EU VSME format for SMEs: Basic (B1–B11) or Basic + Comprehensive (adds C1–C9). Numbers come from Uktupus; add the text Uktupus cannot know (business model, pollution, biodiversity, collective bargaining …). Export to PDF and Excel. Finalise freezes the numbers so the report does not change after later corrections; reopen it to refresh.
